Catherine “Kate” Baxley is an entrepreneurial business owner, filmmaker, and travel trade professional. She holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Studies, is a graduate of the Bergen LEADs Class of 2024, and holds specialized business certifications from the Disney Institute.
Kate’s connection to MEVO runs deep, having first been introduced to the organization during its high school inception. Blending her background in marketing and advertising with a passion for community impact, she has lent her expertise to numerous non-profits over her career, including the Philadelphia Folksong Society, The Nyack Library, Care About the Strays, and the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey.
As the founder and owner of BaxTravels Travel Planning, Kate specializes in curating travel experiences for Disney Destinations and the Disney Cruise Line, as well as immersive itineraries through Alaska, Vancouver, and British Columbia. A history aficionado and advocate for sustainable tourism, her travel philosophy centers on exploring natural landscapes and fostering authentic cultural immersion.
Her creative work extends into visual storytelling as the former co-founder of Clair David Productions. In 2024, Kate produced the short documentary MEVO: From Farm to Feast, directed by her husband, Bryan Huth. The film went on to screen at eight local and international film festivals, earning "Best Environmental Short Documentary" at the Sugar Loaf Film Festival, a nomination at the First Night Morris County Film Festival, and Honorable Mentions from both the Thomas Edison and Cranford Film Festivals.
Deeply committed to environmental advocacy, animal welfare, the arts, and veteran services, Kate actively lives her values. When she isn’t planning travel or coordinating local sustainability efforts, she serves as a volunteer trail leader and can be found hiking with her backpacking group, reading, or spending time with family, friends, and her beloved critters.
