Do you have time and talent to donate?

We are looking for environmentally minded individuals who are interested in guiding MEVO’s work to be the model for the creation of scalable ecological solutions that inspires and empowers people to take action for a better future.

Our board is composed of legacy board members who have been with us since our inception in 2008 and newer members who have helped MEVO evolve into our current operations. Read about MEVO’s history here.

What is a board of directors?:

  • A board of directors is a governing body of a nonprofit that bears the responsibility of keeping the organization true to its mission and is legally and financially responsible for the organization. A board works closely with the Executive Director to ensure the success of a nonprofit and its mission work. To protect the board in instances of legal and financial hardship, Board of Directors insurance is taken out by the nonprofit.

Board Member Requirements:

  • Attend 1 in-person meeting monthly. We often do not meet in May and August.

  • Attend subject-specific meetings as needed, usually virtual, and subcommittees, such as our gala committee.

  • Contribute between $500-$1500 annually

  • Attend and participate in MEVO programming and activities where board representation is impactful, such as our annual gala, volunteer days, and our CSA program.

Interested?

  • Please reach out to Executive Director Violet Reed at violet@mevo.org and Chairwoman Karin LaGreca at karin@mevo.org to express interest and learn more about our board. Please share a little about yourself, what you feel you can contribute, and what draws you to MEVO.
