School Trips, Class Visits, and at School Educational Events

Learn with Us!

We customize your group’s experience to fit their learning and activity needs! Whether that by your group coming to our farms or us coming to your classroom.

Our Services

To get the ball rolling on any of our services, please email violet@mevo.org. We would appreciate the following information:

  • The school you’re coming from

  • The grade and number of students you have

  • Dates and times that would be best for programming

  • The amount of time you want to come out for/ or you want to have us at your school

    • The time we come to a school or a group comes out varies, but it’s typically anywhere from 1-3 hours

      • A classroom visit is typically 1-1.5 hours

      • A farm visit is typically between 1.5-3 hours

We do ask for a donation for most of our services. Donation requests vary based on the services a group is looking for and the number of students participating. However, we do our best to never turn away a group if funding is an issue!

  • Bring your class to us! We have over 9 years of experience welcoming students out to our farms. We accept individual classes, school clubs, and entire grades.

The experiences we offer vary based on the needs of the group and we work with them to determine the experience that will work best for them. A club and individual class may come to take a farm tour and then volunteer and an entire grade may participate in rotational learn station around the farm or they can also come to work and learn.

  • In the Spring and Fall, we are available to come to school to hold assemblies on the work we do, regenerative farming, pollinators and honey bees, and more. We also participate in Earth and Science Days or can create a whole school event through rotational learning stations that each grade cycles through.

  • In the Spring and Fall we can come to the classroom to speak to your class or club about the work we do and/or focus on a specific topic that may align with the curriculum that is being taught. Below on the page is a list of topics we can teach out.

  • We frequently visit the classrooms of environmental studies/ sciences, sociology, anthropology, soil science, world sustainability, ecology, ethnobotany classes, and more. Typically we present a 45-1hr about our work while trying to center the presentation around the syllabus. Classes are also welcomed to visit our farms for an interactive farm tour and/or volunteer work.

  • Let us know! There are services we can provide beyond what’s listed and we’re always open to creating program that fit your group’s need.

Ex: A middle school class brought us in to make herbal lip balms with the hydroponic herbs they grew. An ethnobotany class had us come in to teach about the basics of herbalism.
