School Trips, Class Visits, and Educational Events

Learn with Us!

We customize your group’s experience to fit their learning and activity needs. Whether that means visiting our farms, or us coming to your classroom.

Our Services

To get the ball rolling on any of our services, please email violet@mevo.org. We would appreciate the following information:

  • Name of your school

  • Grade and number of students

  • Preferred dates and times

  • Duration of time you want to bring your class to MEVO or have MEVO come to your school (typically 1-3 hours)

We ask for a donation for most of our services. Donation requests vary based on requested services and the number of students participating. However, we do our best to never turn away a group if funding is an issue!

  • Bring your class to us! We have over a decade of experience welcoming students to our farms. We accept individual classes, school clubs, and entire grades.

The experiences we offer vary based on the needs of the group and we will work with you to determine the experience that will work best for your group. A club or individual class may take a farm tour and then volunteer, while an entire grade may participate in a rotational learning station around the farm.

  • In the Spring and Fall, MEVO staff are available to visit your school and hold assemblies on the work we do, regenerative farming, and more. We also participate in Earth and Science Days, or can create a school-wide event through rotational learning stations that each grade cycles through.

  • In the Spring and Fall, MEVO staff can come to the classroom to speak to your class or club about the work we do and/or focus on a specific topic that may align with your curriculum. Please see below of a list of topics we can teach on.

  • We frequently visit the classrooms of environmental studies/sciences, sociology, anthropology, soil science, world sustainability, ecology, ethnobotany classes, and more. Typically we present for 45 minutes-1 hour about our work while trying to center the presentation around the course syllabus. Classes are also welcomed to visit our farms for an interactive farm tour and/or volunteer work.

  • Let us know! There are services we can provide beyond what’s listed and we’re always open to creating program that fit your group’s need.

Ex: A middle school class invited MEVO to make herbal lip balms with the hydroponic herbs they grew. An ethnobotany class had MEVO staff teach about the basics of herbalism.
